Acer Aspire Z5700 All-in-one Desktop Review

T
he Acer’s Aspire Z5700 is an all-in-one Personal computer which has been designed similar to previous model Z5600, which was dropped in 2009. The 1080p resolution, 23 inches all-in-one desktop from Acer is a competition against the 21 inch iMac which is quite expensive.

The biggest advantage of Acer Aspire over iMac is the present of the HDMI port which is not available with Apple iMac. Apple iMac is very good when looked from the design point but there are lots of extra features available with Acer.

Acer Aspire Z5700 All-in-one Desktop Review

The front support posts of Acer’s design look very cheap and do not add beauty to the product. Apart from that, the other features are good and posts do not interfere with the functionality of Acer Aspire. The Acer Z5700 is a touch screen PC and also includes a wireless keyboard and a Mouse and Acer has upgraded the touch software to make the touch screen more responsive and intuitive to use.

There is a carousel style home screen for touch applications, and they have avoided the use of separate page with application icons floating around like earlier. There are various games, media players and several programs in it. The touch applications are especially revolutionary and quite intuitive. The machine comes with 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home premium installed in its 640 GB internal hard drive. There is 4GB RAM and Intel Core i5 Processor with 128 MB integrated graphics from Intel for better display.

The Desktop performs very well for all applications due to i5 Core processor which ensures smooth performance. The iMac competes well in this case with same processor and also DDR3 RAM for faster performance and with 1GB 3D ATI Radeon graphics making it a much better choice for gamers compared to Acer Aspire.

The Acer Aspire can be a good playback device for HD videos. You can enjoy watching HD videos from QuickTime, NetFlix and YouTube and observe that the performance is very good.
Acer also has in-built HDMI port and in the left side, there are 2 USB 2.0 ports while on the right side you can find microphone and headphone jacks, SD card slot and also a button for cycling down-facing LED settings.

There are 4 extra USB 2.0 ports at the back along with TV Tuner input, eSATA port, an Ethernet port and also 5.1 analog audio jacks, which are not found usually in all-in-one Desktops. The in-built speakers have good volume for smaller rooms, but if you want to listen to music and enjoy HD videos and audio quality, you must connect it with external speakers. The Acer all-in-one consumes less power and is energy efficient compared to other models and comes along with warranty card.

Acer Aspire is good all-in-one desktop with 23-inch screen, faster processor, HDMI port for connecting with other video devices, 1080p displays but with some minor drawbacks like lack of blu-ray and clunky design but overall it is a good media-friendly Desktop with good performance.
