One of the users of the Taskos Android app laughingly called their creation “more obedient than a husband”. This may be a bit of an exaggeration, but considering the state of some marriages these days, may have a chance. Seriously, this is a full featured program that allows speech to control the Taskos app. Simply talk to it and create your daily list of things to do.

One of the features of this speech-to-text Android app is the high quality. The layout is done with nice graphics. There is no cheapness to the looks of this app. Actually, the look is somewhat iPhone-ish with a taste of the Palm operating system. The drop down menus are large and clear. The “to do” and the “done” list are separated, so the user can know where they are in their goals. Tasks are sortable by importance, feedback and category. If you happen not to like the look of the app, skins ( new graphic layouts ) are available.
The Taskos app features easy calling inside the app. The app can auto-complete your input. The auto-complete will do a search for popular verbs that you have used. The programmer of the Taskos included what he calls “enhanced productivity methodologies”. These are not fully defined but the general idea is that you can increase your productivity even more by using this app to control your list of things to do.
The Taskos categories mentioned are preselected by the Taskos program. There is no word yet on if a user can add their own categories. The Taskos Android app also controls the opening and closing of other apps on the smartphone. Speaking into the microphone on the smartphone opens and closes them. This means this app is also similar to a task manager which is sorely needed on Android devices. To implement multi tasking you launch Taskos with the search button, add a program to begin, and click on an icon to launch. Dragging and dropping the program to the top of the screen kills the program.
Some people are complaining about the non-compatibility of this app with the new Froyo Android system ( version 2.2 ). The app is advertised to work with versions 1.5 all the way up to the newest, which is now Froyo. One of the neater things about this app is the “tasks sharing” feature. This is to allow the user to share what they are doing with others. Most who use this app say only good things about it.
The other features of Taskos are also useful. Get this app if you need to edit or sort notes with your voice. The engine that runs this app requires the installation of another app. The other is called “Google voice search”. It is recommended that you check out the privacy of what is going on with your commands in the Google app before you use Taskos.
