Toshiba Libretto W105-L251 Review
Though the performance of the laptop is not same as full-size laptops the capacity of the system to run normal windows tasks is quite impressive.
It was not intended for distribution on wide-scale as per Toshiba and was an experimental show piece. This gadget is definitely fun to use despite its high price.

The tablet size laptop comes with 62 GB of solid state internal hard drive and Intel GMA Integrated HD graphics and is pre-installed with the Windows 7 Home premium operating system. The screen size is very small with 7.0 inches diagonally and the system weighs just 1.7 pounds. The dimensions of this ultra mobile hand held portable computer are 8.4 inches length and 4 inches width.

It looks similar to a Nintendo DS with two seven inch multi-touch displays with native resolution of 1,024 X 600 pixels and the second touch screen in the bottom of the chassis could switch to a virtual keyboard with a touch of a button. The same screen can also be used as touch pad by double tapping the switch.

Unlike the iPad, you cannot surf through the documents or web pages by scrolling with fingers.
It is very hard to work at tabs and tiny buttons and using the onscreen touch pad is also difficult to use. The touch controls are very responsive in these windows based UMPC from Libretto and navigation around the windows interface is very smooth and lag-free.

By using the right side button present near the bottom display will switch between Windows OS the desktop to a sequence of the proprietary bulletin board screen of Toshiba that helps in arranging notes and photos with the touch friendly interface. There is an easy-menu utility which allows for easy navigation such as maximizing and minimizing windows, switching windows to another display and stretching the currently active window to cover both displays.

The accelerometer feature is very useful, and it can automatically rotate the display when you turn the system upside down. It is useful for especially web surfing and reading e-books through the display rotation is very slow.

It has stereo speakers and microphone and headphone jacks in the side. And it has 3 USB 2.0 ports and SD card readers. Apart from that it has support for Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Watching videos in this mini laptop was good with 480p size but 720p videos were quite choppy and there was some lag.

The innovative dual touch screen design, multiple keyboard lay outs and good performance makes this UMPC a good choice as an executive toy and is not useful for ordinary people.
